Rovers have had a shaky start to the season, losing the first two cup matches and conceding 5 goals. Garners new 3-4-3 system is suddenly looking a lot less promising than it did in pre-season. 

Sunderland were also knocked out of the first round of the Carabao Cup - only just losing out to Hull City on penalties after a 0-0 draw in 90 minutes. They quickly made up for their short goal drought by scoring a colossal EIGHT goals against Aston Villa's U21s in the EFL cup on Tuesday.
